Japan/UK – Women’s Economic Empowerment Seminar 2025

The Japanese and UK Governments are working together to deliver a virtual seminar (to be hosted by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs) as part of a joint commitment to promote women’s economic empowerment between these two countries.

The seminar, which will take place on Thursday 6 February 2025, will be a great opportunity for UK women entrepreneurs, investors and business owners interested in trading with or investing in Japan to learn about various initiatives and support services available offered by a variety of organisations, both in Japan and the UK, that can support you. There will also be an opportunity to hear directly from UK women entrepreneurs and business owners who are already trading successfully in Japan; they will provide peer-to-peer advice and guidance based on their own experiences.

This event follows a successful virtual seminar hosted by the UK Government on 10 July 2024, for Japanese women entrepreneurs, investors and business owners interested in trading with the UK. The Press Notice for this event can be found here.

The upcoming event seeks to deliver on the obligations set out in the UK-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (UK-JP CEPA), which has been in force since 1 January 2021.
