Aimed at Northern Ireland companies seeking to enter the Japanese market for the first time, companies looking to expand their business in Japan, or those looking for more information on doing business in the market, Spotlight on Japan will focus on the United Kingdom-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership – a free trade agreement between the two countries – as well the opportunities available for NI businesses.

Mark Graham, Invest Northern Ireland’s Regional Director for North East Asia In his role with Invest Northern Ireland, Mark has responsibility for delivering the North East Asia strategy, supporting local companies and education organisations to access new markets and business opportunities to grow their exports; and to attract new foreign direct investment to Northern Ireland.
Marie-Claire Joyce, Head of Trade at the British Embassy Tokyo Head of Trade at the British Embassy in Tokyo, Marie-Claire comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience of UK-Japan trade and economic policy. She, along with her team were instrumental in negotiating and implementing the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between UK and Japan in 2020.
Steve Crane OBE, CEO of Business Link Japan Steve established his first company in Japan 20 years ago, and his experience identified opportunities to support other international companies enter the market, and Business Link Japan was then incorporated as a vehicle to do just that. In 2013 Steve established Export to Japan, a Non-Profit Organisation online digital platform which has gone on to support supported thousands of UK businesses to sell their products and services in Japan.
Nick Shindo, Sales and Business Development Director at First Derivatives/Kx Nick has 12 years’ experience in marketing and selling pioneering technology solutions, and is responsible for bringing First Derivatives, and its platform Kx, to Japan. Kx is the world leader in high-performance, in-memory computing, streaming analytics and operational intelligence.
The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session, providing customers with the opportunity to pose questions to the panel.
