Osaka Kansai Expo 2025 will be held from 13 April to 13 October 2025 at Yumeshima Island in Osaka, Kansai Japan. The theme for the Expo is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” with sub-themes; ‘Saving Lives’, ‘Empowering Lives’ and ‘Connecting Lives’. Expected number of visitors is 28.2 million of which 3 million are from overseas. 153 countries/regions and 8 international organisations have been confirmed to take part. This is the second time for Osaka to host a World Expo (last event was in 1970) and the third for Japan (Aichi in 2005). Osaka Kansai 2025 will be one of Japan’s biggest events of the decade and will shine a light on Western Japan and the Kansai region more specifically. The economy of Kansai is equivalent to that of South Korea and there will be opportunities for UK firms to take advantage of. Tender Notices

The approach to working with commercial partners around Expo 2025 means that opportunities will be most relevant to UK companies that meet the following conditions:

Has past track record working on either previous Expos or other major world events such as World Cup or Olympics; and
Has a partner company in Japan or already has a Japan office; or
Has plans to set up own entity or partnership in Japan.
