The Japanese plant engineering market was approximately £14,300 million in value in 2014. The industry led by “Big 3” (JGC, Chiyoda and Toyo Engineering) and other companies are looking increasingly overseas, particularly in energy projects such as LNG (liquefied natural gas) and shale gas as domestic demand remains sluggish.
